Good Sunday All

Hi everyone.. I hope everyone is enjoying their last weekend of February... I personally am loving it because in my feeble mind it means WINTER IS OVER....

Now I know technically it isn't but for so many years the seasons were built around the High School Sports schedule and since High School baseball starts this week and that is a SPRING sport.. to me it is spring!!!!  Can you tell I hate winter, so this little calendar adjustment allows me to get through the dark, dreary, cold days faster..

I spent this weekend just relaxing, no running around, no errands, no chores except laundry. It has been so nice.. We did install a storm door on the kitchen/backyard door and it has a doggy door which I am sure once Reny and Paige get use to it, they will love it.  Right now they want me to open the little window for them instead of using themselves to open it..hehehe.. they better learn quick, otherwise what the use of having it LOL

You may already know about this homemade snack.. I jusy never thought about it but last week on Emeril he was making a mexican dinner and I noticed he took corn tortilla's  cut them into triangles and deep fried them for homemade chips so I decided to breakout our deep fryer last night and try it out.. OMG they are SOOOOO Good!!!! Homemade warm chips= yummy.  I made more today as an afternoon snack, this is a keeper and so easy.. Try it with your favoirite salsa and see what I mean.

I did manage to scrap two layouts this weekend.  You can view them below and I would love to hear what you think.

The first is my youngest son and Paige just a few days after we adopted her. As you can see, they became fast friends and loved to nap on the couch.

I used Gina Miller's Weathered and Warm Emblishments. CD available at SBB and KHP's word art.. I don't know who that is so if you do let me know so I can give proper credit please

My next layout is of my nephew and his two friends enjoying an evening of chocolate fondue.. It was so much fun and hey they weren't mine to try and get to bed so I let them at it hehehe.I used Gina Miller's Weather and Worn Element and Paper CD's again,  Roberta D'Achille's chocolate title, Angie Briggs stitches and the font is CB Wednesday

Rak Challenge

Hi all, I know I promised more frequent update and I have failed in that promise.  Well its been a crazy few weeks.. Lots of overtime at work, with some overnight stays, family illness, and everyday responsibilities have kept me away from the computer but today I play :) and will add some ramblings here, in no specific order, just thoughts as I think of them.

I've now used my new pressure cooker I mentioned in my last post a few times.. It is really easy to use and the results are awesome... I would now 100% suggest this PC to anyone, what a time saver for all those of us with such busy lives.

I mentioned a few blogs ago how proud I am of my youngest for all he is doing but especially for deciding to become a firefighter, following in his dad's footsteps.. Well, he lives a few hours away so I don't always get updates on the latest in his training and such so I visit his departments website every so often to see what I can see and I found a picture of him in his uniform after a call.. This is the first time I have seen him in his gear.. Okay the photographer has to learn to use a flash but it's him and he is smiling, a rare thing for Brian to do in a photo. Brian in gear . He is the cutest one, on the bottom right!

Oh Love RAK Scraps.. what a great website for those of us who digitally scrap..  As partof RAK Week 2006 Amy has given us a blog challenge and I have decided to jump right in so here we go..

Sleepy

Someone needs to wake me up.  It's not even 7:30 and I am dozing off here, can't do that with Survivor starting tonight, although I do DVR all my favorites.

Not much to report on this front today, a very busy day at work, I never even got to have lunch. (Sorry, Brian I really wanted to have lunch with you).  We are going through a staff transition at work so all is very hectic. My boss did surprise me today and tell me I could work from home tomorrow..YIPPEE.. he is so awesome!!

Oh I have to share what came from QVC today...

K94775001  It's an electric, digital pressure cooker.  I actuallly have a PC already but it is a stovetop version and I was told by several sources NOT to use a stove top PC on my new flat, glasstop stove as the rocking motion could crack the glass, so I rejoined a PC group on Yahoo and started researching and this is the Cooks Essention 6 quart which seemed to be the overwhelming favorite of those there.  I plan to break it out this weekend. PC Cooking is so fast and the food so much healthier for you.  I have several new recipes to try out in this baby and if they are winners will post them here.  PC Cooking on work nights can be such a timesaver.

Well that is it for today, told ya it was an uneventful Thursday. I am off to pop some popcorn and settle down for Survivor...   Take care and stay safe.

Has it really been this long?

WOW, how is it that I haven't posted anything here nor did I take the time to learn this program since  I registered at Typepad, I guess between getting settled in the new house, the holidays,  work (yup I am still driving 2 hours/110 miles each way) and life in general things got away from me.  I am going to try and do more  and on a more consistent basis.  I've played with this program alot today and it doesn't seem all that difficult to use. Good thing, even though I know some HTML, I really have no time to get involved in a complicated program.

Today I added 24 new digital layouts to my digi album (yippee) and while I don't love all of them, I love most. A few I will be redoing (like the NY ones) What was I thinking when I designed those..  yuck!

I just must share how PROUD I am of our youngest son, Brian.. He is 18 and I was pretty worried when he graduated from HS last June that he didn't have any focus, except for the girlfriend (I LOVE you Kailynn!!) and his guitar. Well he has just SHOCKED me with all the adult decisions and actions he has been taking. He is in his second semester of community college, is working 3 days a week,  and he has decided to join his dad as a Firefighter so he is also volunteering at the local FD 2 nights a week and taking fire classes PLUS finding time for Kailynn!!!  ahhh so proud!!  Chris is doing great, he is basically spending Mon-Friday here in Richmond, working FT for a security installation company and on weekends it's either off to Radford to see his girlfriend (we met her last week, so sweet and cute, so far he can keep her, like I have any say in that) or he heads to WVU to visit with his former teammates and friends.

BTW - How about those Mountaineers.. Wvusmilie_1 Sugar Bowl Champions in Football, 6-0 in the Big East in Basketball. What a year for Mountaineer sports.. here is hoping the baseball team does as well.

The super bowl is Sunday and unfortunately my Redskins aren't in Detroit, but heck, they gave it one hell of a try.. Next year is the Redskins year!!  I am routing for the Steelers, as I told my DH, there is just something about the Steelers organization, the teams always seem like they are "real" and "down to earth". A bit blue collar in attitude, which just makes them even more enduring. Well enough gibberish for today.. I have things to do around this place so I better get to it or I won't have my "Idol" time tonite.. Until next time...God bless and take care..
